How It Works

This blog is designed to help members of my extended family learn more about our ancestors. It is also intended as a travel guide, indicating significant family history sites that can be visited.

Each blog post will contain one of four labels indicating the family line. These four labels are the surnames of my four grandparents: (John) Teare, (Elaine) Dawley, (John) Noble, and (Alice) Cross. I will also state how the ancestors mentioned in a post are related to one of those four people. The posts will contain information about specific family members, cities or sites related to family history, or both. At the end of each post I will include addresses and travel tips, if available.

I want this site to be informative but also easily navigable. For example, if you are related to me through Alice Cross, by clicking on the label "Cross" you can read ONLY the posts that discuss that lineage. By clicking on the label "Massachusetts", you can find places to visit, such as cemeteries or churches, that are tied to our family in Massachusetts.

If you are not among my close relations but we share a common ancestor, please feel free to use this site as a resource for your own genealogy searches (and be sure to leave us a comment letting us know a cousin stopped by!). I do not post anything on here for which I do not have a source.

For complete family tree information, please feel free to connect with me on Ancestry.com by clicking on the link at the top of this blog!

Happy Trails!
Shannon

PS: This blog does not contain information on my husband's family history. There are no current plans for such a site, however if you are one of our Mauro/Cook relatives and would like to see more information about those families, please click on the Ancestry.com link at the top of the page to access our public profile. You must have an account for full access to our Ancestry.com trees.
